Privacy
This is not the finished privacy policy
Tiny Robot Missions has not been released, and its full privacy policy has not been written or reviewed. Rather than leave this page empty or fill it with wording nobody has checked, it sets out the things about the game that have actually been established so far.
The complete policy will replace what is below, at this same address, before the game is released. Until then, treat this page as a description of how the game is built — not as a legal document, and not as a promise.
What the game keeps on your device
Everything the game saves is saved on your own device, in the app's private storage. There are three kinds of record:
- your progress through the levels;
- the level you have open — the program you have built, the edits you have made to it, and a run you have paused;
- which level you were on last, so the game can bring you back to it.
None of these records contains a name, an account, an identifier or a timestamp. The app does not send them anywhere.
What the game does not collect
As the game is built today, it contains:
- no analytics and no telemetry;
- no advertising, and no advertising network;
- no crash-reporting or diagnostics service of its own;
- no networking code at all. On Android the app does not even ask for permission to use the network.
It does not create or send an identifier of any kind — no account, no random identifier, no device identifier, no advertising identifier, and no tracking framework. It does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, biometrics or payment details.
These statements describe the application as built and checked by the project's own release checks. They are re-checked against the build that is actually released.
Your device's own backup
If your phone backs itself up, or you transfer it to a new phone, your saved game may be copied along with everything else the device backs up. That is your device and your platform account doing it, under Apple's or Google's terms — not something the game does, and not something that sends your saved game to us.
The App Store and Google Play
When the game is published, buying and downloading it happens through Apple's or Google's store. What those companies collect when you do that is theirs and is covered by their own policies, not by this page.

What this page does not cover yet
A finished privacy policy has to answer more than the questions above. These are the parts that are still being decided, and they will be written by the developer with proper review rather than guessed at here:
- who the developer is as a legal matter, and the address that goes with that;
- how long anything is kept, how to ask for it to be deleted, and how such a request is handled;
- anyone who receives data, in what role, and why;
- which countries' rules apply, and the rights they give you;
- how changes to the policy will be announced;
- how information from any future playtesting is handled, including for participants under 18.
No claim is made on this page that the game, the project or this website complies with any particular law, regulation or standard. That is not something this page is in a position to say.
